Where and what is Lausanne?

For those who are scratching their heads, Lausanne is a city in Western Switzerland situated along Lake Geneva or Lac Leman. It is somewhat the capital (or major city) of Suisse Romand, French Speaking Switzerland.

The city is a hilly one with Ouchy in the south being flat and with the terrain becoming increasingly high in altitude further north. That is why you need to climb a hill on your way to school.

The city is known as the Olympic capital where the IOC resides.

The city is populated by many museums with the Musee Olympique being among the more prominent ones.
